Village day 2022
The highlight of Bunbury’s social calendar took place on Saturday 25 June with a Medieval Theme, and it was a huge success!
Bunbury Village Day 2022 got off to great start with a splendid Parade led by the Chester Brass Band and Bunbury Royalty – the Rose Queen & King. BVD was then officially opened by our guest of honour, the High Sheriff of Cheshire, Jeannie France-Hayhurst. Jeannie is one of 55 High Sheriffs installed in counties and cities all over the UK, all of whom were appointed by Her Majesty the Queen, to promote the wellbeing and prosperity of their region, to keep the peace, uphold the law and support the Judiciary.
We were also joined by a large group from HistoriaNormannis who brought the late 12th century to life, with a mix of craft displays, combat demonstrations and living history.
The evening entertainment was provided by two great bands. The Lost Boys, a Bunbury based covers band, playing R&B with a sprinkling of Rock/Britpop, followed by Green Bullet, a band with a great reputation for delivering a high energy mix of rock, punk and indie.
The day threatened to be a wash out but the sun prevailed and the large crowd were able to enjoy the myriad of stalls, the delicious cake at the WI café, a host of thrilling fairground rides and also the excellent classic vehicle display.
