With Village Day fast approaching (Saturday 8 June), the search has begun for this year’s Rose King and Queen and their six attendants.
The age groups are as follows:
- Rose Queen and King: Years 5 and 6 on date of application.
- Attendants (boys and girls): Reception to Year 4 on date of application.
If you would like your son or daughter to be entered into the draw, please complete the slip on the form and return to Bunbury Primary School by Monday 25 March (by 3.15pm). Any applicants after this time cannot be entered into the draw.
The draw will take place at Bunbury School in assembly as soon as possible after the closing date and the successful applicants will be notified. Please note that once the random selection of this year’s Rose King and Queen, and their six attendants has been made, if somebody pulls out, they cannot be replaced by someone else.
If there are any queries contact Allison Laycock-Sullivan via the school.
Please note there is a contribution of £200 for the new Rose King and Queen and the 6 attendants, which is donated by the Village Day Committee to cover some of the costs for clothes, shoes, flowers and float decoration etc., although there may be some expense that will also be incurred by the parents of the children involved.
Parents will also need to be available for planning meetings to decide on details. The new Rose Queen and King’s parents will lead on organising these meetings and their group for village day. The new Rose Queen/King’s parents need to arrange a handover from the previous year’s Queen/King soon after the draw and the file of information held by the current parent, to be handed over.
This is a two year commitment, as this year the Rose Queen and/or King plus Attendants will take the throne, and summer 2025 they will attend again to pass the Crown on.
Please complete and return the form to school by the deadline of 3.15pm on Monday 25th March, paper copies are available from Bunbury Primary school office. Rose King Queen Draw Letter 2024.pdf
